Course Description
This course covers theory, formulas, design, maintenance, and repair of hydraulic and pneumatic operated systems, including rams, pistons, apply devices, motors, etc.
Justification
This course is required for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Education Foundation accreditation. It is approved by the program advisory committee. It is a core course for the Diesel Technology AAS degree.
Student Learning Outcomes
- Students will understand basic laws, principals, and operations of hydraulic systems.
- Students will learn how to use the appropriate specialized tools and equipment required for hydraulic systems.
- Students will be able to identify components of hydraulic systems, Ie pumps, valves, coolers, hoses, etc.
- Students will learn how to diagnose and make basic repairs to hydraulic systems.
