I graduated from Brighton High school in Salt Lake City in 1976 and then served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints from 1977-1978. After returning home I attended the University of Utah where I did my undergraduate work for my bachelor's degree in Human Biology. I then went on to study Chiropractic and was awarded my Doctor of Chiropractic degree form the Los Angeles College of Chiropractic in 1987. While there I was awarded the Certificate of Internship for outstanding proficiency in clinical practice. I also co-authored a research article in JMPT on radiographic lung cancer. While working at an out-patient clinic I interned for an MD reading x-rays.
After graduation in California, I took the Colorado and Utah boards and was certified to practice in those states. My first job was working with a doctor in Colorado Springs who also was the Chiropractor at the Olympic Village there. This is where I gained my interest in working with athletes. I returned to Utah in 1989 and over the course of the next 21 years working in, owned and operated three different practices. I also treated and worked with various athletes from various schools which included high school, collegiate, and professional teams including the Utah Jazz.
I finished my career in 2016 after spending six years in Nauvoo Illinois and treating LDS missionaries. I then moved on to teaching at Dixie State College in 2017-2018 and then here at Snow College as a professor of anatomy and biology.
I quickly found out how much I enjoyed teaching and hope to continue with this rewarding work for as long as I am able since I am now one of the senior citizens. I have five children and seven grandchildren and love to golf and relax in getaway places.
