I have been a Biologist all my life. I didn’t really know this until college. That is where my wonderful Biology 101 professor lighted the fire within me. My path was set. I love learning about life and how it works. I enjoy watching the interactions between and within species. I’ve been able to have some incredible experiences in my own education including spending two summers trapping black bears in the Book Cliffs and collecting ants across the Hawaiian island of Kauai. What a way to learn!
Second to this is sharing my love of Biology with students as they proceed along their educational path. Helping students reach their goals is almost as fun as birdwatching…. almost.
I encourage all students to value their General Ed classes. Use them to explore the world and how others study it. Find what you love and what comes easiest to you; usually these are the same thing. Keep working on your education through the ups and downs of life and soon enough you will be doing the work you intend to do. Keep learning through life!
