While attending BYU and trying to find a major, I was invited to attend an engineering seminar where working engineers came and spoke about their jobs. I was fascinated and thought “I would love to do that, if only I could find someone to teach me how to do it”. The next thought was “Wait, I’m in college. That’s exactly what they do here!” I then declared my major as Mechanical Engineering and never looked back.
I’ve worked as a mechanical engineer since 1996 at a several companies, mostly in the on-road and off-road vehicle industry. I’ve designed parts and systems for everything from semi-trucks and self-driving tractors to underground mining equipment. My career has been very rewarding.
I started teaching at Snow in the Spring of 2024. Like those engineering seminar speakers and professors of my college days, I hope to train and inspire the next generation of engineers.
