Sewing: A Creative Journey

Class Description:

In this class you will learn the basics of sewing, beginning with hand stitching and the care and maintenance of your sewing machine. You will learn the parts and functions of the machine as well. We will make an apron, a tote bag, pajama pants and a simple skirt or shorts. You will walk away knowing that you have been able to make these items with your own hands. This course introduces you to the possibilities of sewing and is the first in a series of classes to learn advanced skills. The first week of class supplies will be provided, and we will make a sample of different hand sewing instructions. For everything else you will be given a supply list on the first day of class.
