Guest Speakers/Honorary Degree Nominations
Snow College invites all faculty, staff, students, alumni, and community partners to nominate speakers and honorees for its commencement ceremonies. We search year-round for speakers who will inspire and impact our graduates in a positive way. There is no deadline for nominating a speaker; if you've submitted a nomination, it will stay in our database to be considered for future ceremonies.
Honorary Degree Nomination Qualifications
- They have distinguished themselves and have contributed significantly to society on a local, state, regional, national, or international basis.
- Have demonstrated interest in and given significant support for higher education, especially at Snow College.
- Could help increase the recognition and enhance the image of Snow College.
- Have rendered outstanding service to the university, positively influenced its growth and development, and have contributed to its educational mission.
Chosen guest speakers may also receive an Honorary Degree and should be consistent with criteria #1 and #3 above.
Nomination Guidelines
Please note that we will not review candidates in the following categories:
- Posthumous nominations
- In absentia nominations
- Organizations or institutional bodies
- Groups of individuals
- Self-nomination
- Current Snow College current employees or trustees
Nominations should highlight the nominees' achievements and contributions. Please do not contact the nominee as the nomination process is confidential and nominees should not know that they are being considered.
Individuals may nominate more than one candidate, but a separate submission must be completed for each candidate you would like to be considered.
