Guitar
Álvaro Pastor is an Argentine musician from Villa Mercedes, San Luis, whose artistic journey is marked by his versatility and deep connection with various musical traditions. His passion for music was nurtured from an early age by his brother, Sebastián Pastor, who introduced him to the guitar and bass. At the age of five, Álvaro began formal guitar lessons under the guidance of Raúl B. Díaz, a mentor who played a decisive role in shaping his musical foundation, instilling in him a strong base in flamenco, Argentine folk music, and classical music.
During his adolescence, Álvaro led and participated in several rock and alternative genre bands, exploring new avenues of musical expression. At 18, he moved to Córdoba to continue his musical education in a university setting, where he graduated as a Superior Instrumentalist Musician from LCEM in 2022. Under the tutelage of Maestro Horacio Burgos, Álvaro expanded his musical horizons, delving into genres such as jazz and tango, and deepening his understanding of folk music. His involvement in prominent groups in his home country underscores his commitment to Argentina’s cultural roots.
In pursuit of new challenges and learning opportunities, Álvaro relocated to the United States after completing his studies in Córdoba. There, he immersed himself in the North American music scene, touring with rock and country artists from Utah, releasing his debut single, and continuing to develop his original music. He also furthered his academic education at Snow College, where he earned his degree in May 2024.
