Course Description
Students will gain experience performing in a percussion ensemble. This course is open to all percussionists. Course is repeatable for credit.
Justification
Students majoring in music at NASM accredited institutions are required to participate in a variety of ensembles, including chamber music ensembles.

- Students who complete this course will be able to demonstrate correct stick and hand technique on a variety of percussion instruments.

Course Content
Students will learn standard percussion ensemble literature from the contemporary era. In addition, students will be taught correct sticking and hand techniques on a variety of percussion instruments. Literature will be selected from a variety of styles including African, Afro-Cuban, Jazz, Brazilian, and other Latin American styles. All students will be treated equally.
