Course Description
This course provides students with training and practical playing experience in chamber music groups. It is designed for woodwind players and is available to both music majors and non-music majors. Students will learn and perform chamber literature including quintets, quartets, and trios. This course is repeatable for credit.
Justification
Music majors at NASM accredited institutions are required to participate in a variety of ensembles, including chamber music ensembles.
Student Learning Outcomes
- Students will demonstrate an ability to accurately perform standard woodwind chamber music repertoire.
- Students will demonstrate an improved ability to play with accurate intonation.
- Students will demonstrate an ability to perform selected literature with musicality consistent with historical practice.
Course Content
Students will learn standard chamber ensemble literature and will perform in at least one concert or recital each semester.
