I have loved math since the first grade. It is clear to me that this fondness was motivated mostly by the excellent teachers who encouraged, challenged, and pushed me to develop a perception that math is ever-changing, full of possibilities, and limited only to the learner's own creativity and imagination. The applications are endless. My quest is to be such a teacher to my students.
In pursuit of that quest, I have attained several degrees in math and education (i.e. Doctor of Philosophy degree in Educational Technology from Walden University, Master of Arts degree in Math Education from Western Governors University, Bachelor of Science degree in Math Education from Utah State University, and Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics from Utah State University).
Besides my obvious passion for math and computer topics, I also enjoy music, theater, art, reading, sports, hiking, mountain biking, and spending time with my wife and two boys. I am also an active student and teacher of Aikido and Iaido (both traditional Japanese martial arts).
