Snow College Graduates Record Number of Students
COMMENCEMENT EXERCISES WILL BE HELD ON FRIDAY, APRIL 29,
AND SATURDAY, APRIL 30
Ephraim, UT – Snow College announces the largest graduating class in the college’s history with 1,031 graduates.
Commencement ceremony for Snow College Richfield graduates will be held on Friday, April 29, at 1:00 p.m. in the Sevier Valley Center in Richfield, Utah. The commencement ceremony for graduates on the Ephraim Campus will be held Saturday, April 30, at 10:00 a.m. in the Horne Activity. Snow College President Gary Carlston will officiate both the Richfield and Ephraim commencements.
The commencement speaker for the Richfield Campus is Utah State Senator Stephen Urquhart, a member of the Utah State Senate, representing the State's 29th Senate district in Washington County since 2009. The commencement speaker for the Ephraim campus ceremony is France A. Davis, pastor of the Calvary Baptist Church in Salt Lake City and current vice chair for the State Board of Regents. The Ephraim program will also include two student speakers: Valedictorian Caden Burrell of Gunnison, Utah, and Co-Salutatorian Jantz Arbon of Pleasant View, Utah. Tessa Smith, of Ephraim Utah, will also be recognized as a salutatorian this year; she is currently serving a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and unable to attend.

By the numbers
The class of 2016 is comprised of 1,031 graduates from 11 countries, 17 U.S. states and 29 Utah counties.
A total of 1,151 degrees will be conferred. There will be awarded 35 Associates of Applied Science; 167 Associates of Arts; 11 Associates of Pre-Engineering; 768 Associates of Science; 20 Associates of Science-Business Degrees; 52 Associate of Science- Nursing; 33 Bachelor of Arts in Commercial Music; and 63 Certificates of Completion.
Of this year’s graduates, 380 are men and 651 are women. The average age of associate’s degree recipients is 23; the youngest undergraduate is 16, the oldest is 56. The average grade point average for this group is 3.1.
The largest number of undergraduate degrees awarded were in the following 10 departments, respectively: general education, nursing, music, pre-engineering, business, art, elementary education, psychology, natural resources, and communications.
