Snow College Celebrates National Week of the Young Child

Ephraim, UT – Snow College’s Little Badgers Preschool invites the public to celebrate Week of the Young Child April 10th – 16th. This is a nationwide event honoring young children and those who make a difference in their lives. 

“All young children need and deserve high-quality early learning experiences that will prepare them for life, and we have a great opportunity to do our part to help young children,” said Danni Larsen, Director of the Snow College sponsored Little Badgers Preschool. “Week of the Young Child is a time for us to recognize that early years are learning years for all young children.”

There will be on-campus activities all week long sponsored by the Home and Family Development Department.  Events that are open to the public include a convocations presentation on Thursday, April 14, by Janet Carlston, a long time educator of young children and wife of Snow College President Gary Carlston, in the Eccles Fine Arts Center.  There will also be a Little Badger Kid Carnival on Saturday, April 16, from 10 am to 1 pm at the field located at 100 East and 100 South in Ephraim.  The carnival is free and open to the public and will include food, games and prizes.  In the case of inclement weather, the carnival will be moved to the Snow College LDS Institute located at 51 North and 100 East. 

Week of the Young Child is sponsored by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) and is an opportunity for early childhood programs across the country, including child care and Head Start programs, preschools, and elementary schools, to hold activities to bring awareness to the needs of young children. These young children and their families depend on high-quality education and care which helps children get a great start and bring lasting benefits to their communities.
