Dear Fellow Badgers,

Greetings from the Snow College Alumni Council. As a Council our goals are aligned with the goals of our beloved Snow College. One of the ways we do this is to provide financial support through scholarships to students who have previous ties to Snow College through our Alumni.

  • Must be a current full-time student at Snow College
  • Must be the descendant or legal dependent of a Snow College alumni
  • Demonstrated leadership potential and a passion for community building
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Commitment to Snow College's mission and values
  • Hands-on experience working in the Alumni Office
  • Opportunities to plan and execute events
  • Networking with prominent Snow College alumni
  • Mentorship from members of the Alumni Council
  • Financial support for academic and professional development. The award amount will be determined after the interview and at the end of the selection process. The award generally ranges from $1,000 to $2,000 per academic year. Contribution hours will align with award amounts.
  • Selected students are expected to contribute hours of support to the Alumni Office during the academic year. These hours should be chosen from any three of the five contribution areas below:
    1. Alumni Association Events
    2. Social Media Campaigns
    3. Public Outreach
    4. Mentorship Programs
    5. Community Service and Outreach
  • Regular reporting: Weekly engagement with the Alumni Office to receive leadership training and engage in the Alumni operation per contribution hours.
  • Acceptance letter: Provide an acceptance letter upon award to the Alumni Council.
  • End-of-year report: A summary of experience at the end of the academic year. The summary can be provided either in writing or in person.
  • Submit a completed application form
  • Provide a resume highlighting leadership experiences and skills
  • Include one letter of recommendation and two professional references
  • Stage 1: Application Review: Applications will be reviewed by a committee composed of Alumni Office staff and members of the Alumni Council.
  • Stage 2: Interview Process: Finalists will be invited for an interview with college personnel and the Alumni Council. Interviews will be held at the end of March or the first of April.

In 2013, to commemorate the 125th anniversary of Snow College, we set a $125,000 goal for the endowment fund. This amount will allow us to fund several scholarships a year from the interest accrued. All alumni and friends of Snow College are encouraged to continue to support this endeavor by contributing to the Alumni Scholarship fund. All donations in excess of $1,000.00 will grant the donors the privilege of joining the President’s Club. You can help impact generations to come -- one student at a time -- by making a contribution today. Every gift, regardless of the amount, is needed and greatly appreciated. You can be assured that your gift to the Alumni Scholarship Fund will go directly to help deserving students who come to Snow to find themselves and receive that firm foundation to their future success.

Sincerely,
Snow College Alumni Council
